You Need The Humble Indie Bundle V

That is a fact. The Humble Indie Bundle V is an amazing package. For a minimum of about $8, you get these games:

  • Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP (Soundtrack included)
    Metascore 85
Retro-looking forward-thinking point-and-click. It appears to be a very digestible length (few hours?), has great audio, ensures the impatient won’t get frustrated, and may even bring a smile to your face. 🙂

  • LIMBO (Soundtrack included)
    Metascore 88
You are a rather helpless young boy who can jump and grab things. Dark atmospheric puzzler. Very dark. Death is the discovery mechanic.

  • Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Soundtrack included)
    Metascore 85
First person survival horror. Play at night, in the dark, with headphones. I’ve played it for a little while, and my items include tinderboxes, oil, and a lantern. You lose sanity in the dark, hear creepy noises, and your vision distorts. Atmosphere is really well done.

  • Psychonauts (Soundtrack included)
    Metascore 87
Cult favourite action game. Supposed to be quite funny. Earlier project by those guys from that whole kickstarter thing. Haven’t played it yet.

  • Bastion (Soundtrack included)
    Metascore 86
LOVE the music and sound. Beautiful art. Isometric action-RPG, I guess. One of the more graphically demanding games, so I can’t get the full enjoyment out of it, unfortunately.

  • Lone Survivor
    Metascore 81
Another survival game. Haven’t played it yet.

  • Braid
    Metascore 90
I’ve played through most of this game on my PS3. It’s great, but I have to be in the mood for a trippy, rewind-time, puzzle platformer… really tricky, which sometimes makes it a lot of work. ha. But that also makes it more rewarding.

  • Super Meat Boy
    Metascore 87
Great for quick sessions. Jump in, play a few levels, get frustrated, quit. Repeat. That might not sound fun, but it is. Requires a fondness of relentless platformers.

Go to www.humblebundle.com or follow the metascore links above for more info on the games.

These games do not require a powerful PC and work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. I run a very minimal Linux PC, and have only had a couple issues. I still haven’t even had a chance to try all the games yet, but I’ve been very happy with everything I’ve played. If you haven’t heard of them before, the Metacritic score should indicate these aren’t your standard games – they’re outstanding. And not only are they great, but they’re truly unique.

Less than a week left to take advantage of this sale. Honestly, if you like games and have access to a computer, you have no excuses.
