E3 2012 Day 1 – Sony

Sony’s show had definite high points, but the Wonderbook demo lasted way too long and they didn’t have the volume of titles they usually have. It was also the source of the loudest applause all day following the announcement that everyone attending would receive a year of PlaystationPlus. Not bad.

  • Beyond: Two Souls

Quantic Dream’s new game, makers of Heavy Rain. Ellen Page playing the lead. Didn’t really see gameplay, just (in-game) movie, but it was an intriguing in-game movie that looked beautiful. See for yourself:

  • PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

(Let’s call it… “PSASBR“) – Vita-PS3 cross-play, Nathan Drake and Big Daddy added to cast. Looks like it could be fun, but still has nothing on Smash Bros.

  • God of War: Ascension

March 12, 2013; More God of War is always fun.

  • The Last of Us

If Tomb Raider is a gritty Uncharted, this is a brutally awesome Uncharted. Must. Watch.

  • Assassin’s Creed 3

Epic sea battles in AC3. Assassin’s Creed 3 PS3 Bundle coming (Game, DLC, PS3).

  • Far Cry 3

4-player co-op campaign included alongside single-player campaign, multiplayer, and map editor (Not sure if that will be on the PS3 version, but it was blurted out just as they were walking off stage)

Scant on Vita

  • “PSASBR” Vita announced with cross-play
  • Black Ops Declassified coming this holiday, but NO VIDEO?! Weird.
  • Little Big Planet 2 update coming to allow cross-controller-play for Vita (use Vita as controller for PS3 game)
  • Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation – Game looks good. Will also be part of Vita bundle with white Wi-fi Vita, 4GB card, game, and more?  Maybe this will help sell the Vita…
